The AKG D40 is a compact professional dynamic instrument microphone built for close miking in demanding live environments. Its cardioid pickup pattern helps isolate the intended source, while its high SPL capability makes it particularly suitable for drums, percussion and amplified instruments.
The D40 uses AKG’s Varimotion diaphragm technology and a rugged all-metal body. Its integrated stand adapter and H440 mounting bracket make positioning on snare drums and toms quick and practical while keeping the stage footprint small.
